The J Pod blog – Year 1 and 2 learning at Grovedale West Primary School

Writing a quality blog comment

This week during our writing sessions we are exploring with the students how to write a comment on the blog.

We have shared some guidelines with the students about writing a blog comment.

Writing a Quality Blog Comment

Write your comment like a letter by including a greeting, content and a closing.

Write a positive comment, ask a question or add new information to the post. Make sure your comment links to the post.

Do not give any personal information about yourself or others.

Use correct spelling, punctuation, grammar and spacing.

Always read over your comment and edit before posting.

The writing task:

Watch the inventions video below. Choose your favourite invention and compose a blog comment to tell the teachers what you thought was the best invention and why.

You might start your comment with ‘Dear Teachers, I think……because…..’

Remember to say who has written the comment too.

Our J Pod Blog Rules

It is important that we use our blog in a safe and responsible manner.

The Level 2 Unit has the following guidelines for our J Pod Blog, consistent with the Prep Blog guidlines.

All students and parents must follow the guidelines when using the blog.
It is important that we have guidelines as Internet Safety and Responsible Online Behavior are very important.

1. All posts and comments are approved by the Level 2 teachers before they can appear on the Blog.

2. All comments must be read by a teacher or parent before being posted by students.

3. Students are only to use FIRST names. Do not use last names in any comments.

4. Parents are to use FIRST names. Do not use your last name when leaving a comment.

5. Never include personal information in your comments. (Last names, phone numbers, address, places you will be etc).

6) Be careful with what you say. Remember the whole world can read your comments, so you need to be respectful at all times.

7) All students must have a signed permission slip to be part of our Blog. This allows them to post, comment and have photos on our Blog.

(Thankyou to Bellaire Prep blog for guidance with our blog rules)
